Resolved Issues

PFD is currently still in Beta stage, this means we are testing it and getting feedback from those in the folding community. While it is public, it is not officially "released" yet, as we are still fixing small issues, and adding new features to the mix.

As such, we realise there may still be a few bugs crawling around in the system somewhere. We are working as fast as possible to iron these flaws out & make sure that PFD works as you expect it should.

Below is a list of Known Issues of PFD that the PFD Team have been working on.

These issues have been tested, and as far as we can see are fully fixed & working properly.
However in the event that during the usage of PFD you notice that one of these issues still seems to appear, we ask that you please file a bug report & enter a note refering to the previous issue number in the "Reason For Error" field.

Resolved Issues

These are a list of issues that the PFD Development Team knows about either through their own discovery, or through bug reports filed by users, that have since been resolved.

Issue #01 - Molecular Weight / Construct Length

In the construct page, the javascript used on this page can sometimes cause the molecular weight fields & construct length to do undesired things.
Our advice for the moment is that you verify your data is correct before hitting the "Save And Proceed To Next Step >>" button.
13 Nov 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #02 - Additive Unit Conversions

Initially thought to have been a bug in the saving of additive concentrations for method data, this later turned out to be an issue with decimal rounding in search results pages.
20 Nov 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #03 - Column Titles in Mutant Spreadsheet

Some of the column heading titles in the mutant template are not 100% correctly labelled. While they are labelled correctly for the fields they map too, some of them can be rather abiguous. The correctly labels should be as follows:
F: "Secondary Structure"
G: "Interacting Secondary Structure"
H: "Local Interactions (eg. L51;)"

Issue #04 - Capturing of Public Notes from Mutant Spreadsheet Import

Due to a field name mismatch data from the "public notes" field of the mutant spreadsheet was not importing correctly.
14 Nov 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #05 - Saving of Equilibrium Data

All data is being saved correctly, so no issues with that, however if the data is entered, and then deleted it saves as an empty record in the database. Technically this entry should be deleted, rather than left in as a redundant record. As far as we know this does not affect user usage in anyway, but it wouuld still be nice if it didn't happen.
08 Nov 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #06 - Overloading of Equilibrium Curve & Chevron Template Imports

Currently when an Equilibrium Curve & Chevron Data template is uploaded, it just enters the data into the corresponding table without checking for previous data. This would mean that the user could enter these types of data to their heart's content. The issue isn't with that, it's with the fact that once the data has been entered, if some of it is entered wrong, there is no way to edit or re-enter that data. It has been decided that the best way to resolve this in the immediate is to set the logic of the import to check for existing data & overwrite that data. This means that once these changes have been made, only the data in spreadsheet will be contained in the database. We will look at providing ways to add/edit/delete individual points at a later stage.
14 Nov 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #08 - Advanced Search Doesn't Appear to Return All Results

Logic issues in the advanced search appears to affecting its returning of data. It appears that the regular search returns more results than the advanced search.
The reasons for this happening have not been directly identified.
25 Jan 2007 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #09 - Extra Columns in Advanced Search Disappear on Re-ordering

Columns selected to be displayed from the Advanced Search appear to return the results okay (aside from the "Advanced Search Doesn't Appear to Return All Results" bug.), however when the data is re-ordered, by selecting one of the search module headings, the extra columns don't carry over into the re-sorted data.
25 Jan 2007 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #11 - Data Summaries Missing Fields

Some of the various ways of data being returned back about a deposition do not appear to list all data fields of that deposition.
Eg. The email that a user receives notifying them of a deposition does not list all βT fields associated with the data.
25 Jan 2007 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #12 - Feature Request Details not Posting Correctly

The Feature Request forms do not appear to be passing all data into the emails sent to the user & admin team.
19 Dec 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #13 - Incorrectly Labelled Tooltip for SCOP Family Field

The tooltip for SCOP Family Field in Search Results page displays as "click here to order data by Species column", when it should say "click here to order data by SCOP Family column".
17 Jan 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #14 - Unexpected Actions in Deposition

During the deposition process several pages allow you to search the current data of the database to find what you are after. Eg. Users can search for an existing Protein.
On some pages typing text into the search box & hitting the Enter/Return key may not trigger the expected result of the page searching the database. It will instead save the currently selected data on the page & move to the next one in the deposition process.
This occurs as a result of the way HTML processes forms, by default hitting the Enter/Return key will trigger the first submit button on a page. In most cases this will be the "Save & Progress To Next Step >>" button.
We are currently looking into ways of getting around this problem.
18 Jan 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #15 - Logging-In to PFD During Search Causes Columns To Disappear

If you happened to log-in while viewing the results of a search, all the columns of data except for the column displaying number of mutants, and the column with the protein image.
This was caused by some changes made to data handling in the search.
17 Jan 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

Issue #16 - Publication Search During Deposition Returning Incorrect Authors

The Publication page of the deposition process allows users to search the database for existing publications that may be associated with the data they are depositing.
Due to an error in code, it appears to return the same authors for all publications.
18 Jan 2006 - Issue has been resolved.

New or Reocurring Issues

If you find any issues not listed either on this page, in the Known Issues page or in the Feature-Adds page, or if you find that one of these resolved issues reoccurs, please notify us by filling in a Bug Report.
