UniProt ID
From Foldeomics Wiki
PFD uses UniProt IDs (or UniProt Entry Names) to identify unique protein constructs & mutants of those constructs.
If the construct of data you are depositing is listed in the UniProt Database, then we ask that you enter the UniProt ID of that construct during deposition.
What Is A UniProt ID?
Each protein in the Universal Protein (UniProt) Database has its own unique ID, based on the protein and the organism in which it is naturally expressed.
Each entry provides information of relevant publications, sequence, function, secondary structure, molecular weight, length and links to other database and websites, including Pfam, PubMed and ExPASy.
How Do I Find The UniProt ID Of My Data?
During deposition of your measurement data, you will be prompted for the UniProt ID of the construct.
If the construct of your protein exists in the UniProt Database, we ask that you fill this field in.
When depositing your construct data, you should notice a link entitled 'Search UniProt' (directly below the field).
Clicking on the link will open the UniProt Database in a new window.
You can then use the search box on the page by entering the protein name and organism from which it comes.
eg. antitrypsin homo sapiens
or antitrypsin human.
If your construct exists in the UniProt Database, then it will have a UniProt ID.
The UniProt ID is also referred to as the "Entry Name" of that construct.
Note: Only enter the "Entry Name", do not enter any of the "Accession Numbers".
